Shawnee Acres

We offer lessons in basic huntseat equitation, jumping and dressage.  We emphasize safety, good horsemanship basics and proper communication with the horse.  Our students range in age from 5 years to over 50.  All lessons are private 45 minute lessons.  We gear each lesson to the level of the student, starting beginners out on the lungeline, progressing to independent riding in the round pen and then "graduating" to the arena.  Many of our students show successfully in local show circuits, 4-H, breed and rated hunter shows.   We have several reliable school horses for students that do not own their own horses, and also offer lessons on your horse.  Haul in lessons are available for students with horses that do not live at Shawnee Acres.

Lesson Rates: $140/4 private lessons

We show year round at a variety of shows, from local show circuits to rated USEF shows.  We offer hauling services, schooling at shows, braiding and day leasing of horses for shows to students.  We also regularly host schooling shows at Shawnee Acres, giving a show opportunity for students and boarders as well as for other local barns.  Please see our Calendar page for upcoming shows at our farm

Training is available monthly or by the ride.  We are well qualified to train your horse from starting under saddle through finishing for shows.
